But how does it work exactly? iDIN or itsme is similar to the way you use internet banking, for identifying, logging in and confirming your age:

  • Identify
    • For example, you want to identify yourself to make an insurance contract online
    • You choose iDIN or itsme as identification method
    • You select the bank where you organize your banking business online or itsme
    • You will be directed to the iDIN page of your bank or to itsme
    • You log in with the login of your bank or the itsme-app
    • The personal data that the insurer wishes to receive from you has already been filled in
    • You click on agree
    • You will be redirected to the insurer’s website and identified
  • Login
    • For example, you want to log in to your ‘my environment’ at your insurance company’s website
    • You choose iDIN or itsme as login method
    • You select the bank where you organize your banking business online or itsme
    • You will be directed to the iDIN page of your bank or to itsme
    • You log in with the login of your bank or the itsme-app
    • You see that you are going to log in at your insurance company
    • You click on agree
    • You will be redirected to the insurer’s website and logged in
  • Confirm age
    • For example, you want to confirm your age to use a particular service
    • You choose iDIN or itsme as login method
    • You select the bank where you organize your banking business online or itsme
    • You will be taken to the iDIN page of your bank or to itsme
    • You log in with the login of your bank or the itsme-app
    • You will see that you confirm that you are older than 18 or not
    • You click on agree
    • You will be redirected to the website and your age is confirmed
